Electricity tariffs

Due to the protracted martial law, the government decided to leave the electricity tariff frozen from April 2022 and will remain so for at least the next 6 months.

It is:

  • up to 250 kWh (inclusive, for the entire volume of consumption) – UAH 1.44 per 1 kWh;
  • more than 250 kWh (for the entire volume of consumption) – UAH 1.68 per 1 kWh.

Minister of Energy Herman Galushchenko, and later Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal and head of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy Daniil Getmantsev assured that rates will not riseand stay the same no matter what.

“The increase in tariffs for gas and electricity is not being discussed now. We will see what mechanisms we will provide for this. PSO can be one of them. We will analyze and make decisions,” Galushchenko said.

Later, Daniil Getmantsev announced that a decision would be made that would allow suppliers not to raise gas prices for the population.

Water tariffs

Tariffs for all water utilities and all enterprises involved in water supply and sanitation are set by the National Energy and Utilities Regulatory Commission.

The regulator did not report changes in water tariffs, which means that, like all other indicators, they will remain at the same level.

Separately about no increase in water tariffsMayor of Kyiv Vitaliy Klitschko said that earlier the cost of the resource was planned to be recalculated from May 1.

Transition to a new gas metering system

From May 1, Ukraine was supposed to switch to a new accounting system for the consumption of blue fuel.

Now the volume of consumption is measured in cubic meters, and from the 1st day it should have been measured in kilowatt-hourshowever, the war intervened in the plans and now this important innovation is in question.

The Naftogaz company said that because of the war, everything remains as before and they are waiting clarifications from the regulator NEURC.

Segodnya also wrote that Ukrainians would have to calculate water bills in a new way and were told what to expect from tariffs before the end of the year.
