In early May, data on the new level of average wages for 2023 will be made public in Poland. It will grow by more than PLN 400 (about UAH 2.6 thousand). Such an increase is a record one, and it will also affect the earnings of Ukrainians in this state.

“Today” tells how the salaries of our citizens working in Poland will change.

The minimum wage increase will take place twice

For the first time in Poland, the increase in the average salary will take place twice a year. This will be done because of too high inflation.

The minimum wage in Poland is determined by the rules and formulas approved by law. So far, the amount has not been officially named, but you can calculate it yourself. According to such calculations, from January 1, 2023, the average salary will be PLN 3,416.30 gross (the amount specified in the employment contract). At the current rate, this is about 22.5 thousand UAH.

How will this affect Ukrainians?

An increase in the minimum wage does not mean an increase in income for all employees. However, such changes in Poland will have a positive impact on Ukrainians. Experts told UBR that Ukrainians most of the time they get the minimum wage.

Therefore, it is to be expected that salaries will rise. However, there are nuances.

Sometimes Ukrainians are issued for the minimum wage, and certain amounts are paid on top. Therefore, if its level rises, then the employer can now give additional payments officially, which will not change the employee’s income in any way, or pay both the new minimum wage and the addition.
