Ansa: the shareholders’ meeting approves the 2021 budget

The shareholders’ meeting of the ANSA agency – National Associated Press Agency – cooperative society, chaired by Giulio Anselmi, met today in Rome and approved the agency’s 2021 budget.
The financial statements of ANSA – for the fourth consecutive year – showed a profit for the year, equal to 483 thousand euros for 2021. The positive performance of the agency’s management is also highlighted by the increase in gross revenues, which in 2021 rose to approximately 65.1 million euros, by the gross operating margin which is confirmed as positive (5.5 million euros) and by the reduction in overall debt which falls by 2.7 million euros compared to 2020.
The shareholders’ meeting therefore increased the number of members of the agency’s Board of Directors to 23, at the same time appointing the new director Andrea Favari, CEO of the Società Europea di Edizioni spa.
PricewaterhouseCoopers spa has been confirmed as an independent auditor.
“Also this year ANSA has confirmed its characteristics of solidity and reliability and the results highlighted in the financial statements are a further concrete manifestation of this – commented the president Anselmi – in a global context still characterized by a profound structural crisis, the economic trend positive results of the agency testifies to the effort made by the management and all the staff “.
For the CEO Stefano De Alessandri, “the financial statements show more than satisfactory numbers in consideration of the unprecedented difficulties and criticalities of the period. In 2021, despite the criticalities linked to the consequences of the pandemic, the agency was able to respond dynamically and proactive to the challenges of a particularly complex market. The results obtained once again confirm the effectiveness of the strategy undertaken “.
