Fincantieri: + 17.8% quarterly revenues, Ebitda up + 17.2%

(ANSA) – TRIESTE, 05 MAY – Revenues equal to 1,681 million, an increase of 17.8% compared to the first quarter of 2021 and “in line with the forecasts for the development of the current order portfolio”. Ebitda equal to 118 million (+ 17.2% against 101 million at March 31, 2021), with an Ebitda margin of 7.0% (against 7.0% at March 31, 2021) “despite the continuing increase in the prices of raw material”. Net financial debt, equal to 940 million (859 million at December 31, 2021), consistent with the production volumes developed by the Group during the quarter. The total workload is 34.4 billion. These are some of the economic and financial results as at 31 March 2022 approved today by the board of directors of Fincantieri spa.

“I am leaving after twenty years proud of having led the Group to reach world leadership positions in the main sectors in which it operates, also thanks to a team that has no equal in the world – said the CEO of Fincantieri, Giuseppe Bono – the results of this quarter, in continuity with those of the financial statements, show a Group in good health from an equity and financial point of view, with a significant workload that gives visibility for the next few years. a particularly complex moment such as the one we are experiencing, which is affected by the continuing increase in the cost of raw materials in a context of worrying geopolitical crisis “.

The revenues for the quarter “reflect the positive trend of all the sectors in which the Group operates”, explains Fincantieri. The Shipbuilding sector consolidates the trend already recorded in 2021 and grows by 6.0% “thanks to the high production volumes of the Group’s Italian yards”. Revenues from Offshore and Special Vessels increased by 98.7%; Systems, Components and Services by 31.4% driven by the Infrastructure business area.

The backlog as of March 31, 2022 was equal to 24.8 billion (26.5 billion as of March 31 2021) with 93 ships in the portfolio and the soft backlog of approximately 9.6 billion (7.9 billion as of March 31 2021).
