After February 24, Polish carriers in different cities supported Ukrainian refugees and allowed them to use public transport free of charge if they had a passport of a citizen of Ukraine.

According to the Capital Transport Union of the Gdansk Bay, from May 1st Ukrainians need to buy tickets for public transport.

This was explained by the fact that local budgets don’t have enough money to finance services. The changes concern some Pomeranian cities in Poland. In particular, these are the following cities:

  • Gdansk;
  • Gdynia;
  • Sopot;
  • Weigerovo.

Where else can you ride for free

In Lublin Ukrainians can ride transport for free. However, local governments from abroad will finance tickets for them. Warsaw maintains the service of free travel for citizens of Ukraine until the end of May.
