In Ukraine, the prices for sunflower and soybeans have traditionally skyrocketed. Corn prices are also rising. However, as a rule, a seasonal increase in supply leads to a decrease in prices.

This is reported by analysts of the electronic grain exchange GrainTrade.

Sunflower prices

The weather conditions have improved and there are more offers on the market. And along with them, the purchase prices for sunflower increased by another 200-400 UAH / t. Now it costs 18.4-19 thousand UAH / t with delivery to the plant.

But the cost of sunflower oil did not change and remained at the level of $ 1260-1300 / t FOB. It is receiving support from the palm oil market.

Soybean prices

Soybean prices are also growing rapidly, at the same time it remains the cheapest oilseed crop, and the level of supply is quite low. During the week, prices for soybeans with GMOs increased by $ 10-20 / t – up to $ 530-540 / t, or UAH 6.2-16.4 / t. Therefore, the processors raised prices to UAH 16.3-16.5 thousand / t with delivery to the plant.

Prices for non-GMO soybeans in ports increased by $ 10-20 / t – up to $ 630-640 / t, or 19.2-19.5 thousand UAH / t, and on the border with Poland and Belarus they reach 650-660 $ / t.

Corn prices

According to analysts at Atria Brokers, in the port of Nikolaev, the price of Ukrainian corn for delivery in October on FOB terms increased by $ 4 / t, to $ 268 / t.

Romanian corn is also more expensive. In the port of Constanta on FOB terms, its price was 233 euros / t (273 $ / t).

And in the port of Marmara, on CIF terms, the price of corn increased to $ 295 / t for a batch of 3-5 thousand tons, however, for consignments of 20-25 thousand tons, they declare $ 290 / t. And sellers of handy volumes named the price for corn at about $ 299 / t.

What Happens to the Price of Vegetable Oil

The price in Ukraine for the product it produces is now twice as high as in the summer of 2020 – about 60 hryvnia per liter. Meanwhile, the cost of sunflower oil on world markets is falling. So, in the Czech Republic, the price per liter of Ukrainian product reaches only 35 hryvnia.

Three main buyers of Ukrainian oil:

  1. India – 31% of Ukrainian exports, 1.9 million tons of oil.
  2. China – 20%, 1.2 million tons.
  3. Netherlands – 10%, 0.6 million tons.

Some experts have already sounded the alarm, warning that sunflower oil may jump in price up to 100 hryvnia per liter this fall. Others believe that it is too early to panic and everything will depend on the harvest.
