In Russia, cars will be produced without airbags and anti-lock brakes. The permit for the production of such cars will be valid until February 1, 2023.

The corresponding order was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

It is noted that the government allowed Russian car factories to produce cars of any environmental class – even Euro-0. Also, cars can not be equipped with anti-lock braking system (ABS), airbags and dynamic stabilization system (ESP).

In addition, the requirements for crash tests of cars in Russia have also changed. So, only a frontal impact into a concrete block without overlaps will remain an obligatory element of the test.

Russia no longer produces passenger cars

Western sanctions have blocked the delivery to Russia of important components that are not needed to build cars. Therefore, four automobile enterprises of the Russian Federation at once – Haval, Mazda Sollers, UAZ and Avtotor, stopped work and sent their employees on vacation.

AvtoVAZ, one of the most famous auto plants in Russia, is also not working: according to the plan, the plant was supposed to start working on April 24 after a 20-day downtime, but it did not work out. The workers were promised that it would definitely turn out on May 16.

Previously, we talked about what they offer Russians instead of working at a factory, and wrote about which cars can no longer be bought in the Russian Federation.
