(ANSA) – MILAN, MAY 17 – An innovative finance for the sustainable development of Italian small and medium-sized enterprises. This is the main theme of tomorrow’s meeting, Wednesday 18 May, organized by CreaRes, the research center in business ethics and social responsibility of the University of Insubria, in collaboration with Intesa Sanpaolo, in the conference room of the bank in piazza Belgioioso.

The event, broadcast live on ANSA.IT and on https://group.intesasanpaolo.com/it, shines a light on the lines of development that can be identified for the financial support of SMEs in the renewed economic context, proposing a reading in the perspective of companies, financial intermediaries and supervisory authorities. Speakers at the debate: Paolo Ciocca (Consob commissioner), Giorgio Gobbi (director of the Milan branch of the Bank of Italy), Gian Maria Gros-Pietro (president of Intesa Sanpaolo), Emanuele Orsini (vice president of Confindustria for Credit, Finance and the tax authorities). The meeting is also the occasion for the presentation of the volume edited by Rossella Locatelli and Cristiana Schena of the University of Insubria, entitled “The new financial ecosystem for SMEs. The opportunities of digitization and sustainable development”, forthcoming in May 2022 (Franco Angeli Editore).

The volume highlights how the challenge for the relaunch of the Italian economy depends on the ability to develop and exploit the potential connected to a financial ecosystem, based on effective collaborations and on a public-private partnership, which is a hotbed of innovative solutions to support of an increasing number of SMEs. “To this end it is necessary that all the players in the system get involved – explain the authors -, not only to be able to select and support the healthiest SMEs and capable of giving life to an economic development that leverages the drivers of innovation. technology and sustainability, but also to create a team game with innovative rules and conditions, which enhances and stimulates the entrepreneurial ability of Italian SMEs, too often recognized and accredited abroad rather than national borders “.
