(ANSA) – MILAN, MAY 18 – Lombardy is confirmed as the most attractive region in Italy and among the main ones in Europe. In the last five years, between 2018 and 2022 there are 296 investment projects in the region compared to the national 705. A growing trend: we go from 59 projects in 2018 to 86 in 2021. The potential new jobs created are about 13,673 and the possible general investments amount to 5.785 billion euros.
This is what emerged from the ‘Invest in Lombardy Forum’ event. The Region project in collaboration with Unioncamere Lombardia and Promos Italia, the national agency of the chamber system for international activities, is aimed at creating the best conditions to support the attractiveness of the Lombardy region and direct foreign investments.
Between 2018 and 2022, 400 companies were interested in developing entrepreneurial projects in Lombardy. Investors come from the US, France, Germany, the UK and Asia, particularly Japan, Korea and India. It is estimated that the 20 companies assisted by the regional team that have finalized the opening in Lombardy have brought investments of 128 million euros and an employment impact of over 860 people. “We are confirmed as the first region of Italy in terms of investment attractiveness. We can do even more” commented the Councilor for Economic Development of the Lombardy Region, Guido Guidesi.
