Ukrainian refugees who receive food and hygiene products free of charge at their place of residence may also be deprived of the right to receive a humanitarian subsidy in the amount of 5,000 kroons (approximately 200 euros).

This was announced by the Deputy Minister of Labor Iva Mergautova at a meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Social Affairs, Radio Prague reports.

This information is contained in an amendment to law “lex Ukraine”, which regulates the rules for the admission of Ukrainian refugees to the Czech Republic. Among other amendments, now homeowners who settled Ukrainians for free will receive “solidarity subsidies”, even if the refugees themselves pay for gas and electricity.

Recall that refugees from Ukraine are entitled to receive assistance in the amount of 5 thousand kroons (6.3 thousand hryvnia) to cover primary expenses. The money is paid for the month for which they received a protection visa. Assistance can be paid for another 5 months if the refugee confirms the absence of other sources of income.

New payouts in June

Earlier, Minister of Social Policy Maryna Lazebnaya said in an interview that almost a million Ukrainians will receive one-time financial assistance in June.

We are talking about traditional assistance to veterans of the Second World War and usually pay it before May 9, but due to the war, the deadlines have shifted.

Ukrainians can count on the following payments:

  • from 612 UAH – for citizens with the status of war veterans, prisoners of concentration camps and ghettos;
  • up to 4421 UAH – for war invalids of the 1st group and people who have special merits to Ukraine.

Lazebnaya stressed that this time the money will be paid out in strict confidentiality so as not to violate security measures.

Segodnya previously wrote why Ukrainian refugees could be deprived of financial assistance in Poland, and also told everything about life in the Czech Republic: the cost of food, transport, housing.
