Real estate: in 2021 sales + 34% on the year, Genoa in the lead

(ANSA) – ROME, MAY 19 – The residential real estate market in 2021 closed with almost 750 thousand transactions, of which 366 thousand acquisitions were made with a mortgage loan.

There is therefore an increase in the sale of homes equal to + 34% compared to the previous year. Among the large cities, the largest increases in the number of sales compared to 2020 are observed in Genoa and Rome (respectively + 32.2% and + 31.4%).

This is what is reported in the Residential Real Estate Report produced by the Real Estate Market Observatory of the Revenue Agency in collaboration with Abi. In the 12 months under examination, the credit institutions have disbursed a total of almost 50 billion euros, on average around 136 thousand euros for each sale backed by mortgages.

The increase in sales – the Report notes – occurred to a very similar extent in every territorial area of ​​the country, exceeding 30% compared to 2020 and 20% compared to 2019. Lombardy is the region with the largest number of sales recorded during the year (over 159 thousand), but Molise is the region with the greatest increase in the number of home sales, with just over 3 thousand exchanges and a growth of 42.3%.
