How to provide Ukrainians with apartments?

As a result of the hostilities, many citizens of Ukraine lost their homes – the houses were completely or partially destroyed. Now the issue of providing them with new housing is acute. Igor Raikov, founder of the Urbanland School of Professional Development, told how to properly provide Ukrainians with compensation.

According to him, people need to be given choice and freedom, and decisions on compensation for lost housing must be quick. At the same time, it is necessary to build not in a hurry, but with high quality.

“First, urban planning should take place with a rethinking of functions”– Raikov is convinced.

He added that on the site of a completely destroyed housing, it is not necessary to rebuild a high-rise building, but to replace it with something more functional. At the same time, property owners should be offered an alternative comparable in terms of parameters and price, with a choice and additional payment.

Earlier, Segodnya wrote that the Verkhovna Rada made changes to the procedures in the field of urban planning during the war, which simplified the restoration of destroyed cities. Find out also who will pay the Ukrainians for the restoration of housing destroyed by the Russian Federation.
