Fuel prices in Ukraine are skyrocketing, and the shortage does not seem to disappear soon, some drivers decide to change the mode of transport.

The editors of “Today” talked with the CEO of Car Import Igor Dobryansky and asked about market trends.

Customs clearance of a car from the USA

The company delivers cars to Ukraine from the USA on a turnkey basis. They advise when choosing, help to buy at an auction, clear customs and hand over to the client. According to Igor Dobriansky, in recent years Ukrainians have been buying 50-60 thousand cars from the United States.

Prices for American cars start with customs clearance from 4500 dollars, depending on the year of manufacture, make, model and mileage. Another 500 dollars will have to be paid for the service of ordering a car.

“Due to “zero” customs clearance during martial law, the demand for the service has grown, but there are difficulties with delivery. We used to deliver to the port of Odessa, and from there to customers throughout Ukraine. Now we deliver to European ports and transport to Ukraine”, – explained the head of Car Import.

Demand for electric vehicles

The fuel crisis, fuel prices and huge queues at gas stations have prompted Ukrainians to buy electric cars more often. Average order for electric vehicles from the USA grew by 30%.

Igor Dobryansky added that people are interested in cars from the USA because of low mileage and good equipment compared to European ones. In Europe, a 5- or 6-year-old car has a mileage of more than half a million kilometers, so the engine life of such cars is almost exhausted.

“Therefore, America will always be a priority for customers who want to buy a good and reliable car at a reasonable cost,” summed up the director of the company.

Shortage of electric cars

Car market experts emphasize that the war and the lack of fuel in Ukraine could create another shortage. Sales of electric vehicles have skyrocketed, with showrooms selling non-gasoline cars in a week.

Not only the situation with gasoline can lead to a lack of electric cars. Seaports are blocked since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, namely through them, for the most part, electric cars were imported into the country. There are almost no stocks left in the warehouses, and it is expensive to use alternative routes.

As the director of the information and analytical group Auto-Consulting explained Oleg Omelnitsky, most of these cars arrived in Ukraine from China through seaports. When there will be new deliveries, it is not known, because the companies do not know where to deliver, and also the cost of logistics is high.

Earlier, Segodnya wrote that after the abolition of state regulation of fuel prices, Ukrainians should prepare not only for an increase in the cost of oil products, but also for an increase in prices in all areas related to logistics. At the same time, revolutionary tires for cars were developed in Japan.
