Volvo pushes 30 fast charging stations on electric by 2022

Terna launches the first edition of the contemporary photography award

(ANSA) – TURIN, MAY 19 – Volvo Cars inaugurates the first fast charging station in Piedmont in Rivoli, near Turin, and confirms the goal of reaching thirty in Italy by the end of the year, in collaboration with its official dealerships , to encourage the spread of electric mobility in Italy. The ribbon cutting was an opportunity to take stock of Volvo’s strategy to become a fully electric car manufacturer by 2030 and plans to launch a whole new range of 100% electric cars in the coming years.

The new ultrafast charging station is located at the historic Volvo Gino dealership, near the exit of the A55 motorway. The ultrafast charging station in Rivoli – a space of over 6,000 square meters – can charge an electric vehicle with a maximum power of 175 kW.

The energy supplied is produced only from renewable sources, therefore sustainable. Like all Volvo Cars’ charging points, Powerstop will be open to users of electric vehicles of all brands and not just Volvo “Never was a car manufacturer committed even through concrete investments in the creation of a network of fast charging stations for all motorists. We do not want to replace those in charge of building infrastructures, but we want to raise public awareness on the opportunity to switch to electric mobility. We like to think that the availability of Powerstop stations translates into a mobility service thanks to which an owner of an electric car of any brand can travel from North to South and from East to West of the peninsula knowing that it can count on highly efficient charging points located in a convenient way to minimize parking times “explains Michele Crisci, president by Volvo Car Italia.
