During martial law in Ukraine, some changes are being introduced for drivers. Since May 16, the work of part of the WIM-complexes (“weighing in motion”) has resumed, however, fines were not imposed on drivers. And from May 23, violations of weight and size standards will be fined.

The press service of Ukrtransbezopasnost reported about such changes for truck drivers.

How much to pay for violation

From now on, if the truck load is more than the norm, Fines will be imposed in the following way:

  • if it is 5-10% more than the established norm – UAH 8,500;
  • 10-20% – UAH 17,000;
  • 20-30% – UAH 34,000;
  • over 30% – UAH 51,000.

If the weight or overall parameters of vehicles exceed the norm, then in some cases You can get special permission. You can apply for a document in one of these institutions:

  • Center for the provision of administrative services;
  • traffic safety department of the Patrol Police Department;
  • representative office of Ukravtodor.

Ukrtransbezopasnost reminds that in our country there are European standards for weight and size restrictions. You can get acquainted with them in the relevant resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers.

Ukrainians began to massively buy cars

Earlier, Segodnya was told that since the beginning of martial law in Ukraine, the demand for various cars has grown by almost 40%.

Ukrainians are now more likely to look for cars that can be bought very quickly, and the number of requests for transport abroad has also increased. For example, compared to March 2021, in March 2022 the number search queries in the category “Automobiles from Poland” increased by 13%. And this was even before the signing of the law on “zero” customs clearance.

What they’re looking for the most right now is meets the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and volunteers. Actually, the most active buyers now are volunteers, philanthropists and public organizations. They mostly buy cars for the needs of the army and humanitarian transport.
