Borsa: Milan reduces decline (-0.6%), Banco Bpm and Bper rise

(ANSA) – MILAN, MAY 24 – Piazza Affari reduces the decline after 3 hours of negotiations. The Ftse Mib index dropped 0.63% to 23,984 points, held back by Pirelli (-2.66%), Amplifon (-2.42%), Moncler (-2.51%), Stm (-2.14 %), together with the rest of the sector in Europe, and Tim (-1.88%). Saipem reduces the decline (-0.26%), reaching almost 4% for taking profits after the jump on the eve of the merger of shares in view of the 2 billion euro capital increase.

On the other hand, the ranks of increases widened with Banco Bpm (+ 1.64%), Bper (+ 1.5%), and Unicredit (+ 1.12%) at the top of the basket of blue chips. Intesa follows (+ 0.26%) which turns positive, while the differential between German ten-year BTPs and Bunds settles at 202 dry points, with the Italian annual yield down 1.9 points to 3%, after the words of the ECB president Christine Lagarde, who invited the Eurotower ‘hawks’ to “move in the right direction without panicking” in terms of rates.

Purchases also on Inwit (+ 1.14%), Leonardo (+ 0.4%) and Ferrari (+ 0.65%), while limiting the decline in Stellantis (-0.57%). The drop in crude oil (WTI -0.36% to 109.87 dollars a barrel) penalizes Eni (-0.83%) and Tenaris (-1.56%), also slowed by steel prices (-1.81 % to $ 4,552 per ton). (HANDLE).
