(ANSA) – ROME, MAY 25 – Pensions paid to public employees in 2021 were 172,228 with an average amount of 2,016 euros (+ 1% on 2020) and a total amount of 4,515 million. It can be read in the INPS Observatory on public employees’ pensions which emphasizes that the category of seniority / early retirement pensions is the most numerous, with 54.7% of the total and a total annual amount of 2,835.2 million. euro (62.8% of the total). The paid pensions decreased by 3.9% compared to the previous year.
The pensions of the Public Employee Management (GDP) in force as of January 1, 2022 are 3,082,954 (+ 1.8% on 2021), for a total annual amount of 79,203 million euros (+ 3.2% on 2021). 58.5% of pensions are for seniority or early retirement.
