The car market in Russia is experiencing record price growth due to Western sanctions. Even the so-called strengthening of the ruble did not help slow down the rate of appreciation.

Specialized Russian resources analyzed car prices and came to the conclusion that imported cars in the Russian Federation are among the most expensive in the world.

Hyundai Solaris

One of the most popular models in the auto market is the Korean car Hyundai Solaris. In China, for one such car they ask for 11.1 thousand dollars (327 thousand hryvnias), in the USA – 16.6 thousand dollars (490 thousand hryvnias), and in the Russian Federation – 24.7 thousand dollars (729 thousand rubles). UAH).

Renault Duster

As you know, because of the war in Ukraine, Renault stopped car production in Moscow. Local authorities quickly seized the capacities and decided to produce Moskvich off the assembly line. But the popular Renault Duster crossover can be produced in Russian Togliatti, albeit under the Lada brand.

At the same time, prices for a high-quality original car in Russia are going through the roof. If in Romania it can be bought for 15.3 thousand euros (481 thousand UAH), and in Brazil – for 20.7 thousand euros (651 thousand UAH), then it is sold to Russians for 27.4 thousand euros ( UAH 862 thousand).

Nissan Qashqai

Among the leaders of the car market in Russia was the Nissan Qashqai crossover. There are versions of the Japanese with 1.2 liter and 2 liter engines. In the USA and Germany, the price for such a car plus or minus is the same 23-24.8 thousand euros (723-780 thousand UAH), but the population of the Russian Federation can buy it for at least 39.6 thousand euros (1.24 million UAH).

Mazda CX-5

This brand of cars is also not produced from the assembly line in Russia yet, but dealers are still selling stocks. The crossover is sold in the USA for 26.2 thousand dollars (773 thousand UAH), in Germany – for 29.5 thousand euros (928 thousand UAH), and in Russia the price of the car is 44.9 thousand euros (1 41 million UAH).

Volkswagen Tiguan

Volkswagen Tiguan is also popular among Russians, but due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the German company suspended cooperation with the aggressor. Dealers still sell crossovers, but at exorbitant prices. If in the USA Volkswagen Tiguan is sold for 26.4 thousand dollars (779 thousand hryvnias), and in Germany – for 30.6 thousand euros (962 thousand hryvnias), then it is sold to the population of Russia for 57.3 thousand euros (UAH 1.8 million).

Toyota RAV4

The bestseller among the “Japanese” is the Toyota RAV4, which was produced at a plant in St. Petersburg, but now the company is experiencing “difficulties due to logistical problems.” The market still sells crossovers with engines of 2 and 2.5 liters, but more expensive than abroad. For example, in the US, Toyota RAV4 can be bought for 26.9 thousand dollars (794 thousand UAH), in Belgium or Germany – within 36-37.7 thousand euros (1.13-1.16 million UAH), and in Russia it is sold for 45.3 thousand euros (UAH 1.42 million).
