Ukrainians who moved to Poland due to hostilities will be able to get free tickets to travel around the country from June 1 only on certain routes.

The press service of Ukrzaliznytsia reported about such changes.

Which routes of the Polish railway are free

As Ukrzaliznytsia explained, from the first day of summer Passengers from Ukraine will be able to travel free of charge only on routes from and to these cities:

  • Helm;
  • Dorogusk;
  • Lublin;
  • Grubeshev;
  • Przemysl;
  • Zagouge;
  • Yaroslav;
  • Rzeszow.

And other rules of the Polish railway for our citizens have not changed. Ukrainians who crossed the border after February 24 and belong to one of these groups can travel free of charge on 2nd class TLK and IC trains:

  • children under 18;
  • women;
  • men over 60;
  • men from 18 to 60 years old with a disability.

How to get a free ticket

You can take the train with a special free ticket. It is issued if the person has one of these documents:

  • international passport of a citizen of Ukraine;
  • travel document from Ukrzaliznytsia for a train to Poland;
  • PESEL Number Assignment Notice, along with any other proof of identity.

Also, documents confirming disability must be presented by people with disabilities.

Ukrainians in Europe are waiting for important changes

Now, instead of free travel for Ukrainians, they will introduce preferential. For example, in Germany, a ticket for all types of urban transport and regional trains will cost 9 euro. In the Czech Republic, a subscription to all types of public transport will cost 7 euros.

In addition, the rules of travel for Ukrainians from June 1 may change in those countries that have not announced such plans.
