On the ad site OLX, resourceful users decided to sell Starlink terminals. It looks like this is subscriber equipment that our country received from businessman Elon Musk at the height of the war with Russia.
The editors of “Today” offers to find out how much valuable equipment is sold on the Internet.
Satellite Internet Starlink in Ukraine appeared relatively recently. Thus, the first batches of equipment arrived in our country at the end of February.
Then several more batches were delivered. It is quite possible that after some time, private customers from Ukraine paid attention to the SpaceX terminals. Consequently, the equipment appeared on the secondary market.
Now Ukrainians are offered to buy SpaceX terminals on the ad site for almost UAH 35,000:
It should be noted that now more than 10 thousand Starlink terminals operate in Ukraine and more than 150 thousand people use satellite Internet. Thanks to the terminals, the Internet is being restored in many de-occupied territories of Ukraine.
Starlink and Ukraine: how satellite Internet appeared in our country
It all started with the fact that Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Digital Transformation Mikhail Fedorov on Twitter addressed to SpaceX founder Elon Musk. He explained that Ukraine is fighting back the aggression of the Russian Federation and needs Starlink.
Elon Musk reacted instantly and sent a “humanitarian cargo” of subscriber equipment to Ukraine.
The Twitter correspondence between Mikhail Fedorov and Elon Musk ended with the company updating the system software. As a result, the terminals are more energy efficient, can be used on the move and can be connected to a car’s cigarette lighter.
Earlier we said that Elon Musk’s Internet registered a representative office in Ukraine, and wrote how Starlink repelled an attack on Ukraine.
