(ANSA) – BELGRADE, 02 JUN – The first direct flight between Belgrade and Trieste, operated by the Serbian airline Air Serbia, will take off today at 18:05. This was announced by the company in a press release.
The inaugural flight, the JU464, will land at Ronchi dei Legionari international airport at 19:55 and will be greeted with the traditional ‘water bridge’ at the airport in FVG. Trieste is the fourth destination in Italy for Air Serbia, after Rome, Milan and Venice. Air Serbia will fly to Trieste twice a week.
“We are particularly pleased to connect Belgrade with Trieste, a city with a large Serbian diaspora, after an eleven-year hiatus,” said Bojan Arandjelovic, Head of Network Planning & Scheduling at Air Serbia.
“We are delighted to expand our network thanks to this new Air Serbia flight, which will certainly contribute to improving our region’s economic relations with the Republic of Serbia as well as serving the large Serbian community living in our area,” said da his part Marco Consalvo, managing director of Trieste Airport, quoted in the press release from Air Serbia.
After Trieste, in the next few days Air Serbia will launch services to two other destinations in Italy: Bologna and Bari. (ANSA).
