(ANSA) – TRIESTE, 09 JUN – The historic ex Principe ham factory (now Queen’s) of Trieste, which employs 49 people, will close by 30 September next. This was announced by top management to the unions who made it known, as reported by some local media.
The decision would have been taken after the failure of the commercial agreement between Queen’s (formerly Kipre, formerly Dukcevich) and the Valtellina (but Brazilian Jbs property) Rigamonti, as reported by the Piccolo website. Failure that would jeopardize the project of re-evaluation and development of the food reality.
As reported by the TriestePrima website, the unions, condemned the company’s decision, have foreseen forms of protest and would be willing to ask for a meeting with representatives of the Fvg Region and with the company to avoid the closure.
