During the war in Ukraine, many rules in labor relations changed, as did the situation on the labor market. People are ready to change professions to find work, and employers, in turn, can change working hours due to war conditions.
The State Labor Service explained whether the company can increase working hours to 12 hours.
Can’t do without a trade union
State Labor noted: an employer can indeed establish 12 mandatory hours for work if there are necessary prerequisites for this. For example, before a full-scale war, the enterprise worked continuously, where there were 3 shifts. And now it is necessary to work only in one shift, only during the day, but at the same time, the working shift will be not 8, but 12 hours.
This mode can be set. But for this it is necessary to introduce a summarized accounting of working hours, and in addition, these changes must be agreed with the trade union. This procedure is described in Article 61 of the Code of Operations of Ukraine.
“In individual industries, in workshops, in sections, in departments and in some types of work, where, according to the conditions of production (work), the daily or weekly working hours established for this category of workers cannot be observed, it is allowed in agreement with the elected body of the primary trade union organization (trade union representative) of an enterprise, institution, organization, the introduction of a summarized accounting of working hours so that the duration of working hours for the accounting period does not exceed the normal number of working hours, – explained in the service.
It is important that, as a rule, serious changes in the regime and working conditions of employees must be warned two months in advance. However, during martial law, this is not required of employers.
What to expect from salaries in Ukraine
Earlier, Segodnya was told that the most optimistic salary forecasts indicate: the restoration of income to the pre-war level will continue for 3-5 years. The following factors will contribute to the return of high salaries:
- return to Ukraine of qualified specialists who were forced to leave the country because of the war;
- financial assistance that foreign partners can provide to restore the Ukrainian economy.
At the same time, experts point out that a quick return of salaries to the previous figures is possible only in hryvnia.
