Hunting clubs against waste, 20 tons collected

(ANSA) – ROME, JUN 14 – Twenty tons of waste recovered throughout Italy during an initiative in favor of the environment organized by the Una Foundation with Italian hunting clubs and associations. From Val Chisone, in Piedmont, to Marsala, passing through Pordenone, Rignano sull’Arno, Macerata, Orvieto, Ischia, the countryside of Lago, in the province of Cosenza and the other Italian regions, more than 3,000 people were involved in the activities cleaning, restoring paths, local roads and urban areas in a hundred different initiatives. Also removed hazardous waste, such as asbestos and syringes, along with bulky waste: tires, mattresses, windows, appliances of all types and building materials. Among the various initiatives of the “Paladini del Territorio” operation, the one in Piedmont in Val Chisone, Val Germanasca and Val Pellice saw the collaboration of young and old volunteers together and more than 800kg of bulky waste were removed, abandoned in the woods and on banks of the adjacent stream. In Calabria, in the countryside of Lago in the province of Cosenza, the paths have been cleaned up and fire strips created against seasonal fires. (HANDLE).
