(ANSA) – MILAN, JUN 15 – Saipem will carry out preliminary engineering services for the construction of a Floating Production Storage and Offloading unit in Brazil. The transaction is the subject of a ‘note to proceed’ (Lntp) by BW Offshore for a total value of 50 million dollars (47.95 million euros) with a stake pertaining to Saipem of approximately half.
The unit – explains Saipem – will operate on behalf of Shell and its partners and is preliminary to the development of the Gato do Mato oil and gas field, located about 200 km off the coast of Brazil in the Santos basin, at a depth of about 2 thousand meters.
Upon completion of the transaction, Shell and its partners aim to award a rental and management contract that will include the award of FPSO engineering, procurement, construction and installation (Epci) to a consortium between Saipem and Bw, with delivery expected in 2026. . (ANSA).
