In connection with the war, many Ukrainians lost their jobs, and some specialties were not as relevant as before.
Almost 5 million citizens of Ukraine lost their jobs, most of them remained in the country and are actively looking for new vacancies, the number of which has also decreased.
According to the Growford Institute, after the end of the war, growth rates will be greatest in those industries that will ensure the restoration of the domestic market – these are:
- construction;
- Agriculture;
- food production;
- wholesale and retail trade;
- logistics;
- production of chemical products;
- manufacture of electrical equipment;
- furniture manufacture.
The number of professions and vacancies in the labor market will depend primarily on the chosen strategy for economic recovery. Most experts are convinced that one should bet on well-developed industries like agriculture or IT.
Important Professions
As Vesti.ua was told in the State Employment Center, the necessary professions now and in the future will be: IT, production and agriculture, sales, transport and logistics.
On average, 10 people apply for the most popular vacancies. Such demand is among salespeople, baristas, waiters, specialists in enterprises, for example, machine operators.
Even before the start of a full-scale war in Ukraine, they planned to update the list of professions of national importance and expand the enrollment for training in specialties:
- refractory;
- mason;
- plasterer;
- electrician;
- mason;
- electric welder;
- locksmith;
- spoil;
- cutter;
- seamstress;
- Excavator driver;
- tractor driver-machinist of agricultural production;
- operator of machine tools with program control;
- construction equipment operator
Who are employers looking for now?
According to the analytics of the Opendatabot portal, the number of operating companies is increasing in Ukraine, and the number of vacancies is growing. Most of all, people with working specialties are in need, but this trend has not affected IT specialists.
For example, on the site “OLX Jobs” the number of vacancies for people of working professions has reached 41,978, although just a week ago there were 32,023 job search announcements.
In addition, already 71% of cafes and restaurants in the country have resumed their work. At the same time, rail ticket purchases are declining and taxi bookings have resumed to pre-war levels.
In June, the number of registrations of new businesses, including individual entrepreneurs, also increased.
Segodnya previously reported that due to the war in Ukraine, not only the situation on the labor market has changed, but also the rules for formalizing labor relations, and they wrote why official employment is more profitable.
