(ANSA) – MILAN, JUN 17 – Piazza Affari fails to rebound with the Ftse Mib which flattens out at the end of the session (+ 0.29%) together with the other European lists, in the wake of the uncertain trend of Wall Street and fears that the tightening of the Fed, which reaffirmed its “unconditional” commitment to the fight against inflation, could send the US economy into recession.
In a session also moved by the expiry of options on securities and stock indices, on the Milanese market Saipem (+ 12.4%) stood out, with a tear in the final, ahead of Nexi (+ 5.6%), Pirelli (+ 5.2%), Campari (+ 4.5%), Diasorin (+ 4.3%) and Italgas (+ 4%). Banks did well, led by Banco Bpm (+ 2.6%), while Bnp Paribas’ interest in Abn Amro rekindled attention to banking risk. The list is weighed down by the crash of Eni (-4.7%), struggling with the Russian gas cuts, and the drop in Tenaris (-1.5%). Lazy Generali (-0.4%) and Mediobanca (-0.5%) while a compromise is being sought on the replacement of Francesco Gaetano Caltagirone in the Leone board of directors.
