Prime Minister Denis Shmygal could not name the time when Ukraine will receive the next tranche of assistance from the IMF and said that a fruitful dialogue was taking place.
Shmyhal said this during a speech at the Kiev International Economic Forum on October 7.
According to the prime minister, he has no right to make any statements about the timing at the moment.
“Money loves silence, everyone knows this. We have a very fruitful dialogue, the mission continues today, and I do not have the authority to make any statement on this matter,” the official says.
Shmygal stressed that Ukraine has absolutely positive cooperation with the IMF and has met all the necessary macro indicators.
According to the Prime Minister, the loan can be expected in the coming weeks.
“We are working with the IMF, we are working with the European Commission and have a positive statement of receiving macro-financial assistance literally in the coming, I will not speak days, but weeks,” said Shmygal.
Cooperation with the IMF
The mission of the International Monetary Fund began its work in Ukraine on September 21, said IMF representative Vahram Stepanyan.
On October 6, Finance Minister Sergei Marchenko said that high gas prices in Europe could pose a risk to negotiations with the IMF, as they could affect the fiscal part of the budget.
