“Zero customs clearance” canceled

On June 21, the Verkhovna Rada supported bill No. 7418, about which many argued before. 234 people’s deputies voted for the changes and the law was adopted in two readings at once.

It provides for the return of duties and the imposition of VAT on imported goods and customs clearance of cars from July 1, 2022. We are talking about those types of goods for which they were abolished by law No. 2142:

  • those imported by single tax payers of the first, second and third groups;
  • and those imported by enterprises that do not pay import duties;
  • as well as for the import of “Euroblanks” by citizens.

According to the customs, while the easing was in effect, the budget received less than UAH 3.5 billion from entrepreneurs, and UAH 13 billion from customs-cleared cars.

At the same time, the innovation provides for exemption from paying the fee for compulsory state insurance for those who acquire ownership of cars equipped exclusively with electric motors (one or more).

“Today” used to be told when drivers should expect a seasonal peak at gas stations and considered what the price of a “Euro badge” with and without “zero customs clearance” was.
