Work: only 1% of fixed-term contracts exceed one year

(ANSA) – ROME, JUNE 21 – Shorter and shorter fixed-term contracts. On the basis of the data of the Mandatory Communications of the Ministry of Labor, in the first quarter of the year it appears that 33.3% of the job positions activated foresee a duration of up to 30 days (9.2% only one day), on the 27th, 5% for two to six months and only 1.0% above a year. This is indicated by the quarterly note on employment trends published by Istat, Ministry of Labor and Social Policies, Inps, Inail and Anpal, adding that overall there is an increase in the incidence on the total of very short-term contract activations (19 , 7% up to one week, +2.9 points compared to the same quarter of the previous year).

In general, in the first quarter of the year there was a new increase in job positions (+183 thousand compared to the fourth quarter), with an increase in both permanent (+85 thousand) and fixed-term positions (+98 thousand) , again on the basis of the mandatory communications of the Ministry of Labor. In the annual comparison, there is a marked growth in job positions: + 671 thousand compared to the first quarter of 2021. Those with permanent contracts mark + 268 thousand units while, at a more rapid pace, for the fourth consecutive quarter, the growth of temporary positions continues determined (+403 thousand in one year).
