The Antitrust Authority has imposed a fine of 200 thousand euros to Ryanair for lack of information on ADR, (Alternative Dispute Resolution) or the dispute resolution system. This was announced by Assoutenti in a note requesting the opening of a discussion with Mise, Enac and Antitrust to arrive at shared rules aimed at strengthening conciliations in the air transport sector.

“Without going into the merits of the reasons that led the Antitrust to sanction Ryanair today, we believe it is essential to underline the importance of ADR (Alternative Dispute Resolution) in the air transport sector, an indispensable tool for protecting the rights of travelers and resolving quickly disputes between passengers and airlines at no cost. We ask the Deputy Minister of Mise, Gilberto Pichetto, to open an urgent confrontation with consumer associations, ENAC and Antitrust itself, aimed at identifying certain and shared rules on the ADR front, in order to strengthen and expand this consumer defense tool, especially in the air transport sector, where disservices increase and critical issues to the detriment of users – explains the president of Assoutenti Furio Truzzi – The Antitrust provision does not reject conciliations but limits itself to defining the information that must be made available to those who benefit from this tool, in order to ensure correct communication. In this sense, we believe that the Adr must be supported and strengthened, especially in this time of economic difficulty for citizens, because they allow consumers to obtain respect for their rights quickly and without the excessive costs of justice “- concludes Truzzi.
