Another 300 zlotys: Ukrainians in Poland will receive additional assistance for children

From July 1, Poland will start accepting applications for the Good Start program, which Ukrainians can use.

According to the government portal of Poland, the program provides 300 zloty (1994 UAH) for a school starter kit for each student.

Anyone can apply, regardless of income level. It is possible to do this online.

The Polish authorities decided in this way to help parents get their children to school, because a complete set for teaching even one student is a considerable amount. The Good Start program has been operating for four years, it was founded in 2018.

Who gets financial assistance?

Financial support in the amount of PLN 300 under the Good Start program in Poland is provided to children from 7 to 20 years old (depending on the educational institution, Polish children study in high school for 3-4 years, enter at 16-17 and graduate at 19- 21 years old). For children with disabilities – up to 24 years. For each child, the amount is calculated separately.

How to apply?

Applications for benefits can be submitted by regular mail from August 1 or by e-mail from July 1. Applications will be accepted until the end of November.

The following Polish banks participate in the program: Alior, PKO Bank Polski, Bank Pocztowy, Bank Polskiej Spółdzielczości, BNP Paribas Bank Polska, Credit Agricole Bank Polska, Getin Noble Bank, ING Bank Śląski, mBank, Millennium, Nest Bank, Pekao, SGB Bank .

Changes for migrants in Poland

Governments of various states have announced assistance programs for Ukrainian migrants. During the four months of a full-scale war, they began to change, and now, in Poland in particular, Ukrainians are waiting for new conditions.

From July 1, the payment of 40 zlotys (about UAH 275) per day will be stopped. Now they still receive it for food and lodging for Ukrainians.

Cash assistance can still be left to Polish citizens who take minors at home, as well as pregnant women and women with many children.
