How much do dairy products cost in Poland – price comparison with Ukrainian

Milk in Poland will cost approximately:

• PLN 2.28 (UAH 16.4) per liter of 2% product;
• PLN 2.79 (UAH 20) per liter of 3.2% product;

In Ukraine, the average cost of milk, according to the Ministry of Finance, as of July 2022, is UAH 34.43 per 900 ml.

As for sour cream, its cost will be for 330 gr with 18% PLN 3.29 (UAH 23.6). In Ukraine, you will have to pay 39.70 UAH. for 340 gr 20% of the product.

A liter of regular 2% kefir will cost PLN 2.94 (UAH 21.1). In Ukraine – 37.47 UAH for 950 gr 2.5% of the product.

The price of cream depends on their fat content:

• 12% 500 ml – PLN 3.67 (UAH 26.4);
• 30% 500 ml – PLN 7.19 (UAH 51.7);
• 36% 500 ml – PLN 7.42 (53.4 UAH).

If we talk about sour-milk cheese, then its cost will range from PLN 3.99. (28.7 UAH) for 250 gr. up to PLN 4.29 (UAH 30.8). 350 gr. will cost PLN 6.49. (UAH 46.7).

In Ukraine, the cost of the product will be within 58.45 UAH per 300 gr.

You should also pay attention to hard cheese. In Poland, its cost will be PLN 6.65. (47.8 UAH) for 250 gr. In Ukraine, the same is sold at 342.93 UAH per kilogram on average.

For 200 gr. butter you will give in Poland PLN 7.49 (53.9 UAH). In Ukraine – UAH 64.83.

So, having made a comparison of the cost of dairy products in Poland and in our country, we can say that in a neighboring country the prices for this type of product are slightly, but lower.

Help for Ukrainians in Poland

German charitable organization Diakonie Katastrofenhilfe will pay Ukrainians in Poland PLN 700 each (about 4.5 thousand UAH) and PLN 600 (3.8 thousand UAH) for every other member of the family.

The financial assistance program aims to support Ukrainians who fled to Poland due to Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

Those who apply for financial assistance will receive a monthly payment of PLN 700 per person and PLN 600 for each other family member. Payments will be made for at least three months.

It is noted that Ukrainians in particular need are in priority for financial assistance. At the same time, even registration for participation in the program does not guarantee receipt of payment.
