Marcegaglia buys the historic Trafital wire drawing factory

(ANSA) – ROME, JUL 05 – The Marcegaglia Group, through the subsidiary Marcegaglia Specialties Spa, has completed, with effect from last July 1st, the acquisition of the entire capital of Trafital Spa, one of the historic Italian wire drawing companies, based in Gorla Minore, in the province of Varese. This was communicated by Marcegaglia, underlining that “with this acquisition, the group expands its already vast production offer, adding a range of drawn products complementary to those currently processed in the Contino di Volta Mantovana (MN) plant. The acquisition of Trafital it is part of a more articulated investment policy that the Group is implementing through diversified strategies that also include niche operations such as this one, which aims to create both commercial and technical-production synergies “.

Trafital has 70 employees, 22 thousand tons of product sold per year, a turnover of about 35 million euros and boasts a widespread presence in the supply to end customers, in particular in flat and square drawn products.
