ANSA Lavoro – ROME, 08 JUL – Industrial production in May decreased by 1.1% compared to April. Istat notes this, explaining that in the “average of the March-May period, the level of production increases by 2.3% compared to the previous three months”. The monthly seasonally adjusted index grows on a cyclical basis “only for capital goods (+ 0.4%), while it decreases for energy (-3.9%), consumer goods (-0.7%) and goods intermediate (-0.6%) “, underlines Istat. Adjusted for calendar effects, in May 2022 the overall index increased in trend terms by 3.4% (there were 22 calendar working days against 21 in May 2021). “Significant” increases characterize consumer goods (+ 7.8%) and energy (+ 3.5%); more contained is the growth for capital goods (+ 2.7%) and intermediate goods (+ 1.0%), explains Istat.
