Taxi protest with firecrackers and smoke bombs, Palazzo Chigi armored

Tridico:

A protest by taxi drivers is underway in Via del Corso with Palazzo Chigi and the neighboring access roads armored by the police. Taxi drivers have been asking for the removal of art. 10 of the competition bill which provides for the liberalization of the sector. Firecrackers and smoke bombs have been exploded, with the police confronting the demonstrators keeping them at a distance from the government building. Slogans against the executive, the Prime Minister Mario Draghi, but above all against Uber.
In the meantime, the Chamber’s examination in the Productive Activities Committee of the competition bill continues, but the crux of the liberalization of the taxi sector, contained in article 10, has not yet been addressed. According to what is learned from parliamentary sources, we are working on a reformulation of the article, in order to find a synthesis between the different sensitivities.
