(ANSA) – ROME, 20 JUL – Two new coins issued by the Treasury and minted by the Italian Mint celebrate the National Autodrome of Monza and Alberto Sordi.
The first coin, in silver and with a nominal value of 5 euros, is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Autodromo Nazionale Monza presented as “one of the oldest circuits, known in the world as The Temple of Speed”. It is made by the engraver artist Antonio Vecchio, in the Fior di Conio version and has a circulation of 8,000 pieces. On the obverse it depicts a work by the English designer Michael Turner on the second Italian Grand Prix held on 10 September 1922.
