Ironworks: Arvedi, signed exchange of the hot area “Servola

(ANSA) – TRIESTE, 20 JUL – The implementation of the program agreement for the Ferriera di Servola area in Trieste continues, signed in June 2020 between the Arvedi Group, I.CO.PSpA-PLT, and the public parties which it envisages the closure of the hot area of ​​the steel plant and the logistical-industrial redevelopment of the Servola area with an industrial plan worth almost 230 million. This was announced by the Arvedi Group, owner of the plant, specifying that on 13 July the exchange contract was signed between Acciaieria Arvedi Spa, Siderurgica Triestina srl, I.CO.P. spa Società Benefit e Logistica Giuliana srl ​​on the one hand, and the Ministry of Economy and Finance with the Port System Authority of the Eastern Adriatic Sea on the other, of the privately owned area of ​​the steel mill, where the “hot” plant stood , with the area owned by the state already enjoyed under concession, where currently there is the “cold” plant.

The Port Authority will manage the state-owned areas of the former Arvedi area which will be granted in concession for the new logistics platform of the Port favored by the construction of a new railway junction and the enlargement of the port quay.

The Program Agreement provides for a complex legal architecture, never implemented in Italy, almost completed, which makes it possible to preserve an important industrial production in Trieste, safeguard employment and solve environmental problems.

The area of ​​the Ferriera di Servola di Trieste, in fact, is a fundamental industrial pole in Fvg, with over 400 employees, formed by the “cold” steel business managed by the Arvedi group, and by a connected logistics platform managed by Icop-PLT . (HANDLE).
