Authorizations to build residential buildings in the first quarter reached their highest value in almost ten years, starting from the fourth quarter of 2012, net of seasonality. The number of homes in the new residential buildings is approximately 15,000 900 units, according to ISTAT data, and the living area is approximately 1.38 million. Based on the authorizations of the residential sector, there is a cyclical growth of 4% for the number of homes and 3.7% for the usable surface area. Compared to the previous year, the growth is 8.4% for the number of houses and 8.8% for the surface. “For the non-residential sector there is a particularly large increase in the first quarter of 2022, largely recovering from the fall of the previous quarter”, observes Istat. The surface area of non-residential buildings increased significantly compared to the previous quarter (+ 21.5%) and the authorized non-residential surface area was approximately 2.73 million square meters. Compared to the previous year, the increase is 8.4%.
