War prices: wheat returns to pre-war levels, crude oil down

(ANSA) – MILAN, JULY 22 – Wheat returns to the levels prior to the Russian attack in Ukraine on the day of the agreement between Moscow and Kiev on exports from the Black Sea ports. US crude oil also falls (Wti -0.67% at 95.71 dollars a barrel) and the North Sea Brent (-0.49% to 103.32 dollars a barrel), while gas prices jumped. On the market in Amsterdam, futures contracts for the month of August rose by 6.36% to 165.49 euros per MWh. The increase in London was more substantial, where a fee of 3.35 pounds (+ 13.13%) is requested for each single thermal unit (Mbtu). Gold also progressed (+ 2.36% to $ 1,722.48 an ounce) and silver (+ 2.8% to $ 18.77 an ounce). Iron (+ 0.99% to $ 664 per ton) and steel (+ 0.42% to $ 3,827 per ton) are more cautious.

Durum wheat is traded at $ 836.5 for every single contractual unit of 5 thousand bushels, with a decrease of 2.87%, while soft wheat drops 3.41% to $ 778.75.
