(ANSA) – MILAN, 25 JUL – A week marked by volatility for commodities begins. The markets remain uncertain about economic growth with fears of a global recession.
Oil, after a sharply declining start, has reversed course and is now moving higher. The WTI stands at 95.16 dollars a barrel, with an increase of 1.3%. Brent also rose to 104.24 dollars (+ 1.4%). The price of gas also increased sharply. In Amsterdam, prices rise to 166 euros per megawatt hour, with a rise of 4%.
Among precious metals, gold also rose to 1,734 dollars per ounce (+ 0.5%) and silver to 18.78 dollars (+ 1%). Nickel dropped to $ 22,099 per ton (-1.2%).
On the food raw materials front, durum wheat prices rose by 3.4% to $ 848.25 per contract of 5 thousand bushels. Soft wheat increased 3.62% to $ 787.25.
