Caltagirone Editore: in the half year net profit of 8.1 million

Caltagirone Editore closes the accounts of the first half of 2022 with revenues of 55.9 million euros, in line with the 55.8 million of the same period of 2021.
Results approved today by the board of directors chaired by Azzurra Caltagirone.
The net result was positive for 8.1 million euros. “At 30 June 2021 it had been positive for 16.2 million euro also – explains the company – due to the use of the rules for the realignment of the fiscal values ​​to the statutory values ​​of intangible assets with an indefinite life by some subsidiaries”.
The group’s advertising sales grew by 0.9%. The contribution of the internet sector to the overall advertising turnover, also considering advertising carried out on behalf of third parties, grew by 10.6% to 26.4%.
In the period January – May 2022 the websites of the Caltagirone Editore network registered 3.46 million unique users per day on average.
Operating costs grew by 6.3% to € 56.1 million (€ 52.7 million at 30 June 2021). The cost of raw materials has risen due to the increase in the price of paper due to the current geopolitical tensions. The cost of labor rose by 2.1% “due to non-recurring charges equal to 583 thousand euros (289 thousand euros as of June 30, 2021) linked to interventions carried out by some companies of the group. Net of these charges, labor costs would record a decrease of 0.9% compared to the corresponding period of 2021 “. Other operating costs recorded an increase of 5.5% due to the higher costs incurred for services and services.
