(ANSA) – ROME, AUGUST 05 – Apprenticeship can be a solution to the lack of manpower but it is “still largely underemployed” according to INAP (National Institute for Public Policy Analysis). The average number of employment relationships was 531,035 in 2020, a decrease of 5.4% compared to the previous year. The reduction, in the year of Covid, interrupts a growth that had lasted since 2016 with an increase of 47% in three years.

In particular, the number of employment relationships started falls by over 30% in 2020, to 274,641. And critical issues also emerge on the training front.

“We have an important card to play for the job market, but we are struggling to use it. Apprenticeships could be a fundamental tool to respond to that demand from professionals who are still lacking on the market, yet are struggling to take off”, says the president of the ‘Inapp, Sebastiano Fadda, presenting the results from the XX Report on the apprenticeship made for the Ministry of Labor in collaboration with the INPS.
