Stock Exchange: Milan sells with Powell and gas record, Tim holds

(ANSA) – MILAN, AUG 26 – Worst Piazza Affari in Europe in a largely negative session for the stock exchanges of the Old Continent on the speech of Federal Reserve President Jerome Powell at the Jackson Hole meeting: the Ftse Mib index closed and slipped by 2.49% final to 21,895 points, the FTSE All share marked a decrease of 2.39% to 23,947.

Even on the new record of the price of gas, the whole of Europe is bad anyway: the Frankfurt Stock Exchange suffered a final decline of 2.2%, Amsterdam by 1.8%, Paris by 1.6% and Madrid by 1.5%. He tried to hold London, which ended down 0.7%. After a calm start of the day, methane in Amsterdam closed the session at 339 euros per megwatt hour, just below the all-time high of 341 euros set less than an hour before the end of the last day of the week.

The spread between the BTPs and the Bund is also growing: the differential closed the session 229 basis points with a maximum for the day at 234 and the Italian BTP which recorded an increase in yield of 14 basis points to the final 3.68%. Euro fluctuating around dollar parity throughout the day, with a rather weak ending.

In this climate, in the high-capitalization basket of the Milan Stock Exchange, the worst stock was Amplifon, which fell by 6%, followed by Nexi (-5.4%), Moncler and Iveco, both with a final decline of 4.9. %. Among bankers, Fineco lost 4.8%, while Mediobanca tried to contain the declines with a drop of 1.4%. in Atlantia and Tim estate, both up by 0.2%, with the Tlc group also looking at the signing of the contract for the start of the construction and management works of the ‘National Cloud’.
