(ANSA) – MILAN, AUGUST 26 – The financial wealth of Italians at the end of 2021 exceeds 5,256 billion euros, which has grown by almost 1,700 billion (+ 50%) in the last decade. This is what we read in a research by Fabi which shows that “liquidity remains the preferred form of allocation of savings”. Cash grew by 509 billion (+ 45%) to 1,629 billion, with the percentage of money left on current accounts and deposits stable at 31% of total assets.
Bonds fell sharply (-67% to € 233 billion), while insurance policies grew (+ 78% to € 1,213 billion), covering 23% of total savings. This is the picture, says Fabi, “ten years after the then ECB president Mario Draghi’s ‘Whatever it takes’ to save the euro”. (HANDLE).
