(ANSA) – TRIESTE, AUG 28 – The Uhl Fusion ship, which arrived in Trieste last night where it is at anchor, and which has to load 12 engines produced by Wartsila and destined for Daewoo in South Korea, will ask the Port Authority to operate in self-production. A procedure which, in case of authorization, involves the use of the crew to carry out the maneuvers on the ship to stow the cargo. This eventuality would in part avert the possibility that the strike of port employees who carry out activities related to Wartsila slow down operations. This was reported by Tg Rai Fvg.

The unions, in fact, have called an indefinite strike starting yesterday morning to slow down or prevent the transfer of the engines on board the UHL Fusion with the abstention from work of the displacement, boarding and lashing staff.

Tg Rai Fvg also speaks of a request already submitted to the Port Authority to operate on a quay other than the one usually used by Wartsila, on the navigable canal, which is closer for 10 of the 12 engines. The Port technicians will have to assess whether the quay is suitable for this purpose.

And while the workers of the Finnish multinational invoke the participation of the city in the protest, another testimony is manifested, is that of the Triestina Calcio which asked to postpone the debut match in Serie C against Pordenone from the afternoon to the evening of 3 September next to avoid the concomitance with the demonstration of workers.
