Skoda will manufacture cheap Volkswagen models in the Czech Republic

The Czech auto company Skoda, part of the Volkswagen Group, will develop low-cost MQB-A0 models.

The MQB-A0 platform underpins the Volkswagen Polo and T-Cross, the Audi A1 Sportback, Seat Arona and Ibiza, as well as Skoda’s Fabia, Kamiq and Scala. Skoda Kushaq and Volkswagen Taigun cars are also built on it. These cars are being built for countries that are developing.

The tasks of the Czech company will include not only the production of cars, but also the further development of the budget platform. In addition, the transfer of control over the MQB-A0 to Skoda is an important step in using the Czech firm as a leading brand in emerging markets.

The company conducted an independent study, it turned out that the supply of cars with internal combustion engines will grow by 58% to 7.5 million in these territories over the next 10 years.

Earlier we reported that 909 vehicles were assembled at Ukrainian factories in September. Compared to the previous month, the production of vehicles increased by 64%.
