Invoice obligation and tax tightening for online sales starting from 1 July 2023. In the draft of the maneuver circulated yesterday, VAT taxpayers who facilitate sales to a non-taxable transferee are required to transmit the data relating to suppliers and the operations carried out to the Revenue Agency. In case of failed transmission, the same taxable person is considered jointly responsible for the absorption of the VAT. The assets that fall within the measure will be identified with a decree from the MEF. The new rules exempt supplies made by suppliers who meet reliability requirements or who provide a suitable guarantee, as identified by the Revenue Agency in a provision to be issued within 3 months. Mail order sales are also eliminated from those for which the issuance of the invoice is not mandatory unless requested by the customer.
