Germany lacks about 1.2 million skilled workers, which could greatly slow down the country’s economic development.

According to them, most of all there is a lack of personnel among social teachers (18,300 open vacancies), staff for the care of the sick and disabled (17,900 and 16,700 vacancies), as well as civil engineers (15.5 thousand vacancies), specialists plumbing and heating (13,200 vacancies) and truck drivers (6,700).

In total, the list of professions for which there are not enough workers in 15 specialties.

In this regard, medium-sized enterprises are trying to encourage qualified employees from other countries to immigrate from abroad to work in Germany.

“More and more companies in all sectors are now finding neither skilled workers nor interns. This fundamentally jeopardizes the competitiveness of medium-sized businesses and therefore Germany as a whole. We need targeted immigration of skilled workers,” said the federal managing director of the Federal Association of Small and small. enterprises Markus Jerger.

Experts warn that the personnel situation should be corrected, otherwise Germany will face the UK scenario and the closure of enterprises.
