At one of the online auctions, Ukrainians are sold Ukrainian coins, which every Ukrainian has in the piggy bank. But, a minor marriage has inflated their prices to the impossible.
What is offered to Ukrainians?
A 5 hryvnia coin is sold for 860 thousand hryvnia. This is a common coin, like those used by Ukrainians on a daily basis. But it has a peculiarity – on the reverse side there is an image of Bohdan Khmelnitsky upside down.

And 10 kopecks in 2008 are offered to Ukrainians for 260 thousand hryvnias. The author writes that this is an exclusive coin. Metals differ on it and on non-native metal there is also a coat of arms stamp and an inscription.

Also, 10 kopecks in 2008 can be bought at an auction for 220 thousand hryvnia. The coin has a factory defect and multiple defects. Judging by the photo, some elements are depressed there.

The seller of the 1 hryvnia coin writes that it is endowed with mystical power. On the coin of 2006, on the dome of the temple, according to him, the dancing Shiva is visible – a lack of swimming trunks. But, she has already been nicknamed “dancing Shiva”.

Commemorative coins in Ukraine
On the occasion of the Independence Day of Ukraine, the National Bank put into circulation four commemorative coins – not only from nickel silver with a denomination of 5 hryvnias, which appeared on August 10, but also from gold and silver. Coins from the series “Revival of Ukrainian Statehood” were issued on 17 August.
The following commemorative coins were introduced into circulation:
- 1 hryvnia denomination made of silver, circulation – 15,000 pieces;
- with a denomination of 10 hryvnia from silver, circulation – 3000 pieces;
- with a denomination of 50 hryvnia from silver, circulation – 500 pieces;
- with a denomination of 250 hryvnia of gold, circulation – up to 400 pieces.
As we wrote earlier, a commemorative coin with a horse was put into circulation at the end of July. Also recently, the NBU was reminded what to do with small coins that have already gone out of circulation.
